Chicago-Area Court Houses
DUI cases in the State of Illinois are heard in criminal court but offenders also must appear in civil court for what is called a "civil licensure case," which is essentially a civil case against one's driver's license.
The following list of court houses in and around Chicago (Cook, DuPage, DeKalb, Kane, Kendall, Lake, McHenry and Will Counties) should help alleviate the confusion surrounding DUI-related court procedures:
Cook County:
MAJOR/DUI VIOLATION COURT CALLS
The major/DUI violation court calls are held daily at 9:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. Courtrooms 402, 404, 405, 406 and 408 are major violation courtrooms and are located on the fourth floor of the Richard J. Daley Center.
